Microsoft Outlook data is saved in a PST file, or a file ending in .pst. SafeCopy can back up your Outlook data files even if you keep Outlook open. Outlook files are backed up about once a week. Continuous back-ups are not available because of the way Outlook manages files, although the frequency can be adjusted under Configuration / Advanced.
If your Outlook file is larger than 1GB, it may become difficult to backup your Outlook PST file. This is often because it is difficult to find a windows of time to backup the file without Outlook accessing or changing the file interrupting the upload. If you are having problems backing up a large PST file, we recommend that you close Outlook and then disable the SafeCopy AutoThrottle and set it to full speed. If you continue to have issues, please contact support@safecopybackup.com.
